Dancing Peacock

Dear All
I managed to take this short video of the peacock dance when we were in Anuradhapura . It was so beautiful to watch .
We stayed in Ulagalla villas and they were superb with each with its own swimming pool. The next time  you are in Anuradhapura you must stay in one of these beautiful villas . You can have total relaxation and the staff and the food were fantastic .We did a safari and a unique feature of that was driving in the water and having breakfast seated on the edge of the water.
Deepthie you must go there definitely and you will be able to see many birds and plenty of peacocks on the grounds as well. I will send you more photos of the birds.

Help

Any advice please from garden enthusiasts

This is my dwarf patio applet tree and it has developed curly leaves and there are aphid-like tiny insects on the underside of the leaves. Any advice on how to tackle them using eco-friendly homemade insecticides will be welcome. There are tiny apples already and I fear they might drop off and the tree might die. Thanks.

RU’19 – Update

PHOTO-2019-10-07-17-37-05

EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS😊😊😊
On the 4th of October, twenty three of  the Class of 64, some along  with  their spouses,👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👨‍👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👩‍👦‍👦👨‍👨‍👦‍👦👩‍👦‍👦 gathered at Eden Hotel  Beruwala to celebrate another year of entering the hallowed gates of the Medical Faculty in the year 1964.
In the evening we had a great  Singalong 🎤 🎵 🎶  in the Function Room  with our greatly talented  own DJ Faizal who never fails to entertain us with his beautiful voice and great choice of songs . While some took to the  dance floor, l myself had to sit and watch them dance💃🏼🕺🏽💃🏼🕺🏽💃🏼🕺🏽as I could not take part because of back problems. due to recently diagnosed scoliosis.

As expected the food provided 🥘🥘🥘🥘 was of a high standard and we ate drank  and enjoyed ourselves far away right into the night.🌚🌑
My grateful thanks 🙏🙏 go to Sam who introduced us to Hotel Eden. Without him we would have never chosen this as the venue which for the third time has provided us with wonderful hospitality.

The following morning we had a lovely “chit chat “ with all of us gathered around the swimming pool and it was lovely to see such a great comraderie. This was possible because of the small number and we all felt like members of one great family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 ,
The afternoon was spent sailing down the Maddu river  followed by a visit to a moon stone mine where we learnt how men toiled in the deep mines digging  for  moonstones.
On our return from this trip we had the most fantastic and enjoyable time of our lives reminiscing the past and many of us narrating funny  incidents at medical college where we were  students aspiring to be great doctors of the future….it was hilarious and some skeletons in our cupboards too were exposed which made us end in stitches of laughter. This evening was a great one and as the clock struck midnight 🕕🕕 it was time for us to return to our comfortable beds. We did feel the absence of Dharma who would have contributed to the fun in a great way with his witty jokes. We wish him a speedy tecovery💐💐
Sunday morning  we had to depart after breakfast but with very heavy hearts .
As we hugged each other and wished “good bye” we all agreed again that this was a great joyful reunion and an unforgettable one, and that we should do this again next year same time at the same venue.
All  good things had to come to an end and on Sunday we bade farewell to Eden  and to our friends promising each other to “keep in touch”
May the good Lord bless and keep you till we meet again.
Herewith I am posting photos of our great gathering.

Sad news update

Dear all
It is with great sadness that I write this to inform the passing away of our dear friend Geetha’s husband. Unfortunately, this only transpired during a random conversation of Wimal with her. He had passed away in February but we did not know about it till yesterday.
Dear Geetha
Ranjit and I offer our sincere condolences to you on this sad occasion. At least his sufferings are over and he is in a better place.
Praxy and Ranjit
