Spoke to Indira Soma’s wife and his daughter today . His daughter said that the funeral will most probably be on Sunday the 25 th September and that she will let all the friends know the details when available .
I was quite surprised to hear the bad news as he sounded cheerful when I spoke to him last week. He even reminisced on the nicknames of one of our batch mates and the names of others too in the batch .He sounded cheerful that day and I was surprised to hear last night that he had passed away . Such a wonderful happy person who lived as if there was not a” care in the world.
May his soul rest in peace .

We are very sad to hear the news about our dear Soma.
As we couldn’t talk to him on the phone, I sent him a get well e-card few days ago & was hoping to contact him soon. God has taken him soon.
He was a good friend, visited us several times in Sydney.
He was one of the three batchmates visited my wife Jean in Malacca, Malaysia, long before I ever met her.
Wonderful sole he was. We will miss him.
May his sole rest in peace.

A perfect gentleman, solid and dependable, always there to help another .
Soma was always there, for any event we had, never missed a Class of 64 Re Union ,with his ever present smile on , a good joke to share, etc etc – the list can go on …
It was great seeing Soma and Indira , at the 2019 RU in Beruwala .

By the way , on a lighter note–
Soma was my very first ” Hot Date ” at The Colors Night Dinner Dance, at the KG Hall , – back in 1964 !-
It was one heck of a time I had convincing my Thatha, that Soma was a decent guy, and not to worry !!
My Thatha gave me permission , only because he knew Soma’s Appa !!!!
That was the world we lived in back then !!

Very sad news indeed. Soma was a very likable guy. He had a very good sense of humor. He appreciated when others cracked jokes. You could see and hear his hearty laughter. As Deepthi says he was willing to help anyone in need of a helping hand..

Maharojani and myself are praying to Lord Siva of Lewisham Sivan Temple for Soma’s soul to be with Lord Siva and attain Moksham. Soma was a Member Of The Management Team of this temple.
I will also try to get in touch with the family to see whether we can watch the viewing and funeral via Life Streaming.Can Praxy also try and let us know if the family is o.k for us to join them via Life Streaming.

The tentative date is supposed to be the 25 th but still they are not sure . Indira said by the end of the week they will know the exact date venue and the time as these still to be sorted . We are hoping to attend the funeral and as soon as I know I will let you know.
