Enjoy this little tale from the past.

PS.
We all have little moments in cricket that we remember and treasure. Mine was when the West Indies played us at the Oval (Colombo). During the lunch break some young kids were bowling to Kallicharan at the edge of the boundary. I (unashamedly) grabbed the ball from the kid and bowled to Kallicharan and beat him first ball.
Sorry to be so dry and boring.

Hi CJ,
Thanks for sharing your moment of glory beating Kallicharan’s bat.
I do recall that West Indies v Ceylon match vividly. Other big names that featured in that match were Garry Sobers, Rohan Kanhai,Wes Hall . If I remember correctly old Thomian Michael Tissera got a century and old Anandian Sonny Yatawara bowled Sobers , schoolboy cricketer Amaradasa played for the WI team to make up the eleven.
I think it was the occasion for the launch of Daily Mirror newspaper.
Thanks CJ for invoking fond memories
Kind regards,
