Dear Narme,
Thanks for the publication of this very interesting article.
In ‘Mahabartha’ (a great Indian story) I believe a bridge is mentioned was used by Hanuma (a monkey God) to get across to Lanka and to release Sita (wife of Rama)
In fact latter day the bridge is called ‘Hanuman’s bridge)

My earlier comment should refer to the book Ramayanaya and not to Mahabhartha.
Sorry for the confusion.
After all my mates, I am rapidly aging.!!!

Thanks Narme,
This is in Ramayana. Anuman ( monkey God ) built the bridge. He rescued Seetha from Rawana in Lanka & took her back to Rama in India. ( Rawana kidnaped Seetha & kept her in Thiru koneswaram in Trincomalee)
