Locally common in coastal Florida, Texas, and southwest Louisiana, they are usually in small flocks, often associating with other waders. Spoonbills feed in shallow waters, walking forward slowly while they swing their heads from side to side, sifting the muck with their wide flat bills.
This shot was taken in a bird sanctuary, “Ding Darling” several miles south of where we live. Enjoy,
Sam

It was a very memorable drive to the Florida Everglades with Wimal, on two
consecutive days , who was very patient with me, and stopped the car a
hundred times, for me to take photos of birds along the way .
Roseate Spoonbills – was truly the highlight of both those days .
Dharma also did a trip to the Everglades , and he will have real nice
photos of Roseate Spoonbills .
My photos taken with my little pocket Cannon .
