    With love and best wishes on your birthday.
    As the Bloem reunion nears memories keep running through my mind about life at Bloem, cricket matches at Welisara (“the mustard is also tiny” -do you remember), your Fiat 500 – which was a real Godsend, your visits to our hospital quarters in Durham with Janaki and the boys when Daya was still alive, and subsequent visits etc.
