I agree with you, FRIENDSHIP is like a sheltering tree, with twigs and branches harbouring the
blooming flowers of friends, which radiate the fragrance of togetherness,.
Frienship is not measured by how tall the tree grows, but by how far it spreads it’s branches.

Yes- agree with Praxy and Rani– Friendship is the greatest gift of all and our Class of 64 has shown this in more than one way .
Both of you describes it well , in such poetic terms– Praxy you are quite good at writing up little ditties and Rani- enjoy your philosophical way of looking at friendships .

I like to share a saying about friendship, I learnt in childhood
It is applicable at any age, so bear with me, my friends good
EVEN IN LONLINESS, IN SICKNESS IN CONFUSION
THE MERE KNOWLEDGE OF FRIENDSHIP IS A BOON
IT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ENDURE ANY HARDSHIP

We will be together in 4 wks- 5th oct and today is 5th sept – time flies for sure .
We must not forget the fact that, if not for Sam The Web Man- we would never have formed this ‘special bond ‘ this time around .
We did not have The Web last time , and now, we are a much closer knit bunch than ever before — Thank You Sam, for all the good hard work you have put into the Web .
Well Done- Web Masnter .
Last time in 2014- there were close to 90 of us + spouses .
This time- we are only 40 — but it is ok, at least 40 of us have decided to ‘keep it going ‘ so to speak .
Others- have various personal reasons , family situations, and other unexpected, unavoidable situations , and more over health reasons , for not being unable to personally participate and be with us on the 5,6, 7 oct .
But, we will remember them all , with much love and we will miss them all and wish them well – where ever they may be around the globe .
I for one, gave a surprise to all, when I showed up on thursday at Beruwala, and again on friday, at the Faculty meeting .
I too had some personal reasons for not attending the event – but, Thank God , things worked out well for me in the end, and I made that so called ‘ last minute decision ‘ to come, much to the surprise of Lakshman and Ranjith Almeida , who had to know about my arrival , for room bookings etc .
This was one of THE best decisions I have ever made in my life .
I must thank Laki and MLD ( Laki ). for the many phone calls I recvd from them, and as luck would have it, ” The Tide Turned Around” for me in a good way !
” Someone Up There'” heard Lakshman and Laki talking to me !!!!
Narme and others had NO clue about my last minute decision to attend and he just about fell over, when he walked into Laki’s home and saw me there, on the thursday —
Narme, sent me the most endearing e-mails — ” Come to Lanka on Eagle Wings ‘ he said in one of his e-mails !
Same Surprise, for Dharma, Anoja, and Selva who saw me on that thursday, when we went to check out the details at Eden .
This goes to show how well the Secret of Surprise was kept by Laki and RA . !
I do recall,with much fondness, meeting Damayanthi at the Faculty on Friday – and she actually cried, real tears, when she saw me and hugged me ,and this made me realize that ‘ Special Bond of Friendship ‘ among the Class of 64 mates .
This time around, I will be sharing a room with Damayanthie for the entire Beruwala and Passekuda events . Again, there will be much tears of joy !!
This is how I got ‘involved’ with the Class of 64 ” and the Rest is History !!!!!
This is a Last Minute Appeal to those Undecided Mates !
