Thanks for posting this excellent song & presentation by the Srilankan Tamil composer / singer/ film actor A.E. Manoharan.
He will fit in to be an Ambassador for Srilankan tourism. I have listened to this & other songs by him several times. Those who understand the language will appreciate the way he has presented the storey & beauty of Srilanka. However the sub title gives lot of explanation.
He was also popularly known for his Tamil Surangani baila song.
Unfortunately, he passed away in India at the age of 73 on the 22nd of January 2018, the day after my birthday.
He will be missed by his followers & admirers. His songs will remain for ever like those of Elvis, Michael Jackson & Jim Reeves, to name a few..
I have heard of Manoharan as an actor. I did not know that he was a composer and a singer . Enjoyed listening to the song and looking at the beautiful pictures. Lovely composition. Thanks Rani for posting the video.
So sad to hear that he passed away a few weeks ago. Thanks for letting us know Seelan and the brief history about Manoharan.
Dear Rani
Thank you 🙏 for that amazing 😉 clip.I thoroughly enjoyed listening 👂 to it . It made me feel home sick and I thought to myself what a beautiful country I was born I and why I left it. Cheers. Praxy
Thanks Rani. This video is 6 minutes of bliss.Manoharan sings in beautiful Tamil and it is all about mother Lanka. That is exactly what the words say.The song and words glorify our beautiful motherland. If everyone could appreciate the words, Sri Lankans will know that the Tamils love their mother land too and they want to live in harmony and enjoy the bountiful nature of our home.He was an ambassador for unity as he also sang in Sinhala. His favourite song was “suranganie”.Eddie.
When I went recently to look into my elder sibblings’ health situation, after getting used to Lloyd George Patient Record System in U.K for decades and the recent complete sets of computerised Medical Records with Lloyd George’s frame work as the foundation it was a very painful experience for me to see a complete lack of continuity of record keeping and illegibly written or not at all documented Diagnosis Cards in Sri Lanka.
Some young Doctors from U.K [ Australia,Newzeland and USA ] must point this out to The Leading Professors Of The Different Branches Of Medicine and bring a drastic change in OUR COUNTRY so that the entire population in Sri Lanka benefit by proper continuity of care with chronologically maintained medical records.
Hope some good souls amongst us has the energy and enthusiasm to lay the foundation to bring about a change.
