HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU NISANTHA — aka Zubin Mehta !!!!

All good wishes to you and may you enjoy this day to the fullest  with dear
Piching and your lovely daughters and grand children  and extended family .
May you have many more birthdays to enjoy in the years ahead .

It was really nice meeting both of you at the RU 64- as these few photos
show- just a few of many with both of you- that very photogenic couple !
The Block Concert photo- you are teaching your student a few good things
looks like !
By the way-  I took this photo-  with date included in the photo.

I remember very fondly, all the fun we used to have at your place , back in
the day, when border crossing was a piece of cake,  during the Sinhala-
Tamil New Year time in Pitts with Zavahir, Esiri , Kumi- Siri and familiesn
and Sam’s brother and wife Shirani,  and a whole host of others , not to
mention the GREAT food lovingly prepared and served ever so elegantly by
Piching .
I really do miss those days .
And, back at the old Block and Kynsey Rd days, 50 yrs ago,  did we ever
think ahead this far, when we will be wishing each other Happy Birthday in
our 70th year !!

Have a Very Happy Birthday and Wishing you good health and happiness in the
years ahead

– Deepthie .

Dear Nisantha

I think its only a few of us in Batch64 who can brag about a friendship that goes back to their high school days. I often think about our days at Richmond, followed by sharing accommodation at the Jeevaka Hostel, and the wonderful times we had since then which includes being the groomsman at my wedding!

Enjoy your special day Nisantha. You are a special friend .Wishing  you health and happiness in years  to come.

Sam

Here is a message from Sreetharan,
      Sam

      Dear Praxy
I was having Yoga training with a 92 year old yesterday. Day before I was having training with a 99 year old.
This lady had 3 hip operations in the past. From 6.7.17 to 9.7.17 Yoga Festival was going on in Beale Park near Reading. I was there for the whole period.
This 99years young lady’s name is : Tao Porchon Lynch. She demonstrated and we followed her up for one long hour. She won the 2012 Guinness Book Of Records Award for the Senior most Yoga Trainer.
What she was advising at the end of the class was for us to be determined and keep doing Yoga Excercises like her for us to get back to the appearance and flexibility of age 50.
If you are on WhatsApp I can forward my photos with both of them.I need to get my daughter’s help to get the photos sent to our Web.This will take some time.
I am sure with the support of all and by your determination we will see you and Ranjit as you both looked 50 in another six months time.
Wishing you a very successful operation and very fast recovery.
Kind regards from Maha and myself. Please google and read about Tao Porchon Lynch during the post operative period and let me know how it was helping you.

Operations have never bothered me but today it is different, I do need the blessings of Almighty to take me through. I have not told Ranjit about these anxieties as I don’t want to worry him but hoping to watch some Wimbledon tennis when I go into hospital, to occupy my mind. Op is in the afternoon at 5.30 pm. Thank you. Praxy

Remembered you, daily prayed for a successful knee replacement surgery and an uneventful recovery. I know for some unknown reason one is very anxious the second time around. Please be confident and all will be well. Daily ice packs to the knee and exercises will see you through the the first two weeks and afterwards it would be a smooth journey.
    Take good care of yourself

  19. Dear Praxy,
Thanks to Nisantha. Because of his Birthday, we all came to know about your Knee surgery. I also want to borrow a small space in Nisantha’s pages to wish you all the very best.
Jean joins me in wishing you too. We will pray for your speedy recovery & I will have an extra Chivas tonight ( Lord Shiva’s Holy water)
P.S:- A small advice :- After the surgery, get an extra copy of the X-Ray of both kness & carry it with you whenever you travel for 2 reasons : 1) to pass the airport security 2) to get wheel chair !

I am very impressed with your thoughtfulness
Practical advise given to Praxy is of high class
Radiological view of things, seem quite useful
She will pass airport barriers despite alarm bells

I have one question to ask from you, dear mate
Has your high IQ got anything, with Chivas Regal
Being one of the few teetotallers to survive Bloem
Since too late to regret, started sipping Babycham

      • Dear Ariya,
If I can borrow some more space in Nisantha’s page, I like to inform you that my IQ is zero! That’s why all my replies are rubbish.
If you want to equate the IQ with me, its easy :- To compensate for the loss by being a teetotaller, just start enjoying the Chivas : 125 mls tds (half a bottle) for an year. Not only your IQ but every other thing will ride high!
        (Don’t discuss with Thavam)

Thank you 🌹🌺🌸for all your kind wishes for my op, both personal and on the blog. The op went well and now of course the pain and the physio that I dread but have to do to get mobility back. I will be going home on Saturday.
Deepthie you will have competition at hiking with my bionic knees ( just wishful thinking 😀 ) I have been looking at the photos and write ups to the blog in the past and have enjoyed them.I think you have missed your vocation in life as a photographer.
Sam and Ariya I cannot stop thanking you for this wonderful BS project you started…..especially today as I keep reading all the blogs of the past and enjoying them while lying down on the hospital bed. They have kept me going as they provide good enjoyable reading material . Hope many more will join, as through the blog we are privileged to have our own Facebook.
