Dear Ariya,( Re Certain smile .. a certain face )
With the sad news we have heard regarding the passing away of three of our batch mates within such a short space of time, it made me realise the value of that poem you wrote about a ” Certain smile.. a certain face” There is an unrevealed message in that poem… especially the penultimate verse and the one before that ,are a poignant reminder of the passing of time We never know what is ’round the corner’ for any of us but what we know is that all of us are fast approaching the ”departure gate” whenever that may be. Not that I am being morbid but this is a fact. I feel sad that we could not let Kumi and Yoga know that they are in our thoughts and that we care for them. If their birthdays were in the past and if we had known them, then we could have wished them …and let them know that they are not forgotten. Though we offer our condolences to their nearest and dearest it still is not the same as sending a message to them. In this respect your Birthday salutation programme and Sam’s great help as the web master, are great as this has enabled us to wish each other and communicate with each other on the blog, at least on their birthdays. I sincerely hope that those who have not yet given their dates of birth ( not the year ) will do so, so that we can show that we care for them and that they are in our thoughts. Praxy.

Thank you Praxy for your thoughts on ‘Certain Smile ‘, as it comes at the right time, when we remember the smiles of those who left us – 3 in 6 wks – a bit too hard to take .
However, the wonderful creation of the Web by the Spider Man- keeps us all finely woven into its slender threads, allowing us to stay together, even though we are scattered around the globe .
The tremendous outpouring of thoughts, memories, and prayers for Yoga only makes us want to meet again , as we have such good memories ( photos etc ) of Yoga at the RU 64- Beruwala .
At a time like this- it is even more important- that we meet again- sooner rather than later , as you say, ‘we are fast approaching the departure gate ‘ …
So, how about October 2018- for another RU- perhaps again in Beruwala ?
Something to think about for the Class of 64 .
Deepthie .

Dear Seelan,
Thanks for promptly calling me tonight. I heard this sad news from K.V.Sreetharan this morning. I did not had a chance as you said opening my emails over the week end. I was shocked and sadden to hear the passing away of yoganathan. I met him the last time he was here visiting Canada. We spend an evening talking about the good days. Yoga was with me at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckijnghamshire when I went to England in 1978 to start my life in U.K. I always remember Yoga and wife feeding me with the delicious Neithosas every friday when I was in Stokemandeville Hospital. Please convey my deepest sympathies to his wife and children. he is such a wonderful nice person. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
